Visit a PSD classroom and you’ll see enthusiastic staff teaching students in an inviting setting where learning is fun!  All PSD teachers are certified in the State of Colorado and have an average of 11 years experience. 99% of PSD teachers are "highly qualified" as defined by No Child Left Behind federal legislation, and 98% of classes are taught by highly qualifed teachers. 40.7% of our teachers hold bachelor's degrees, 57.7% hold master's degrees, and 1.6% hold doctorate degrees.

A mix of veteran teachers and energetic newcomers facilitate learning within our school.  With ongoing training for all employees, we are truly a learning community with high standards for everyone.

A student’s right to learn in a safe environment is a priority.  Clearly defined expectations for student behavior and a variety of prevention programs contribute to a positive learning environment in our schools.  Character Education themes are woven into the fabric of all our elementary schools.

With a total of 45schools and numerous facilities that house special programs, Poudre School District is committed to being responsible to our students, the community, and the environment.

PSD is committed to being a responsible steward of our natural resources and believes that public education should provide leadership in developing an ethic of sustainability in all of its practices.  Sustainable Design Guidelines are in place to ensure this goal is achieved when constructing new facilities and renovating existing schools.
